7th April 2009
As of today, 292 people have
registered for the Intersteno Congress in Beijing.
I am pleased to be able to report that the levels of support from each country
forecasted during our meeting in Tychy
are being achieved. Additional registrations will certainly continue to
come in over the next several days and we sincerely thank all of you for your
outstanding efforts to encourage your members to come to Beijing.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen
circumstances entirely beyond the control of our Chinese colleagues, it appears
likely that the venue previously announced as the site for Congress events, the
University of Beijing, will need to be changed.
This will also affect your hotel arrangements for the Congress.
Our Chinese friends and all of us are very sorry for the major inconvenience we know that this will cause you. The
Chinese National Group has assured us that fully satisfactory alternative hotel
arrangements will be arranged and we are confident that the end results will be
a better Congress for all of us. However, in the meantime, we recommend
that you wait before making your hotel reservations until new housing and venue
arrangements can be finalized. This will require at least one
month. For those who have already booked
and (pre)paid a hotel, transportation will be arranged if the congress
venue is changing.
We will keep you timely informed of any additional information on this matter and
we thank in advance for your cooperation and
understanding.
