LANGTECH 2008 - Roma - 28-29 February

Intersteno took part in this event, as sponsor in connection with Accademia Aliprandi - Florence, this has given the opportunity to establish contacts with research centres and researchers in the field of automatic language and speech processing. These technologies are influencing many activities in the domain of Intersteno. More and more in a near future, everybody involved in producing high quality texts will deal with 'documents' in which text is not only merged with images, but  will also be highly syncronized with video speech files. These documents  must be arranged in such a way that they are readable and can be searched with advance techniques like the ones which are going to be implemented for the so called 'Semantic Web',  an evolving extension of the WEB  as we know to day.

Automatic language and speech processing tools are under development, also for helping in 'understanding' the contents of a text and possibly permits this understanding in many languages. Automatic translation tools have been and will be considerably improved, as well as speech recognition algorithms.

A presentation of Intersteno was prepared for this occasion, as well as an Intersteno leaflet. They can ben used as reference for similar occasions in the future in your country.

Intersteno arranged a special session, devoted to reporting, and three lectures took place.
