All chairs are elected for 2 years and the persons can be re-elected. The constitution approved in Rome 2003, forsaw election for 4 years. On a temporary base, for the years 2003 - 2005 Ms Marlise Kulb (who was organizing the Congress in Wien in 2005) was also named President of Intersteno, and her duty was replaced by Mr Jaroslav Zaviacic who organized the Congress in Prague 2007, where the Statute of Intersteno was finally approved. The chair period lasts 2 years. At the Congress in Beijing 2009, two modifications were approved: the use of the words 'Associated Member' instead of 'Individual member' which was creating a bit of confusion, since this kind of membership is only granted after approval from the Council and the General Assembly and can be granted both to individual or entities. The second change was the quorum of 50 % of the countries' representatives for taking decisions in the Council. At the Congress in Paris 2011, the Assembly unanimously approved the new complete denomination of Intersteno as ' International Federation for Information and Communication Processing' as well as possibility to have 2 Vice Presidents instead of only 1.
