WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS COMPETITIONS TEXTS BEIJING 2009

Competition texts are adapted from publicly available, official proceedings of international bodies. Please note, however, that the texts have been modified to meet the linguistic and other requirements of the competition. As such, they should NOT be considered an accurate reflection of the original and official records.

Languages codes are written according to ISO and European Community rules.

The only exception is FRB to indicate French texts for Belgium and NLB to indicate texts in Flemmish.

Preparing, translating, counting, dictating, checking and evaluating competition texts in many languages, is a very huge job which involves many resources.

Intersteno is glad to give the opportunity to competitors to access the text and sound files of their competition, and hope they will be useful for teachers, trainers and students.

A big thanks to the Coordinators of the Jury and their assistans for these big efforts which were coordinated by Ms. Georgette Sante - Jury President.

Correspondence and summary (Coordinator Jan den Holder)

The competition consists of two parts:
- a verbatim transcription of a three-minute dictation of a
letter introducing the theme of the second part;
- a summary report (the minutes) in complete sentences
from a text which will be dictated for seven minutes.
The texts published herewith include also a guide to evaluate the summary report; this guide (the correction model) is only meant for the jury members who do the evaluation.
